In 2009, we had just completed development of a new automated valuation model for residential real estate. We were planning on using this technology to help homebuyers identify properties with potential equity, hence the name Visible Equity.
While taking our product to market we met with Mountain America Credit Union. They, along with all other financial institutions, were facing significant regulatory pressure trying to recover from the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.
A special team of examiners had just instructed Mountain America to update their real estate values and perform a "multi-dimensional portfolio analysis" on their mortgage portfolio. With our background in statistical analysis and our newly released valuation model, Mountain America asked if we could help. We jumped at the opportunity and the rest, as they say, is history. We celebrated our first client, Mountain America Credit Union, with a specially made Mountain America cake.
Since then Visible Equity has grown significantly and is now recognized as the leading analytics company for financial institutions. We continue to evolve and develop award winning products, but one thing that hasn't changed is our commitment to listening to our clients.
