Visible Equity Founders

The Beginnings:

In 2009, we had just completed development of a new automated valuation model for residential real estate. We were planning on using this technology to help homebuyers identify properties with potential equity, hence the name Visible Equity.

While taking our product to market we met with Mountain America Credit Union. They, along with all other financial institutions, were facing significant regulatory pressure trying to recover from the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.

A special team of examiners had just instructed Mountain America to update their real estate values and perform a "multi-dimensional portfolio analysis" on their mortgage portfolio. With our background in statistical analysis and our newly released valuation model, Mountain America asked if we could help. We jumped at the opportunity and the rest, as they say, is history. We celebrated our first client, Mountain America Credit Union, with a specially made Mountain America cake.

Today:

Since then Visible Equity has grown significantly and is now recognized as the leading analytics company for financial institutions. We continue to evolve and develop award winning products, but one thing that hasn't changed is our commitment to listening to our clients.

Our goal is to provide Amazing Products, Amazing Support, and Amazing Content. We do this by listening to our customers every step of the way.

What We Believe

  1. Data Security is Oxygen
    1. Safety First. We take data security very seriously and go to great lengths and expense to protect your data. One can live for several weeks without food, several days without water, but only a few minutes without oxygen.
  2. Amaze the Customer
    1. It's at the heart of everything we do. We continually strive to amaze our customers by building amazing products, providing amazing support, and producing amazing content. We might fall short from time to time, but if our focus is on the Customer everything else will fall into place.
  3. Simple is Better
    1. If you've ever watched a one-year-old successfully navigate a tablet, you know what we mean. Simple doesn't mean the inability to handle complexity. In fact it's the opposite. As Leonardo da Vinci said, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."
  4. When in Doubt, Act
    1. We believe in debate, we believe in analysis, but at the end of the day we believe in getting stuff done. Making a mistake when trying something is completely acceptable to us. Pontificating and endlessly deliberating isn't. When in doubt, act.
  5. Good People Trump Good Ideas
    1. Good ideas are a-dime-a-dozen. First of all good people will have good ideas, but more importantly good people can turn good ideas into something real and meaningful and can do so in an ethical, trustworthy manner. We are very picky with who we hire and it's more important for us to find the right person than fill a position.
  6. Work = Challenge = Fun
    1. Building amazing products, providing amazing support, and producing amazing content is never done. Not only is it never done, but it's very challenging. We whole-heartedly embrace the challenge. It's what motivates and inspires us. It's also what makes work a lot of fun.
  7. Don't be Arrogant
    1. It's ok to be confident, even overly confident. It's just not okay to be arrogant. We don't have all the answers and we freely admit it. That's why one of our hallmarks is to listen to our customers. We are confident that collectively we can solve any problem that comes our way.
